Scrappit Now Kit - October

This months Scrappit Now Kit had some beautiful papers from the Imaginesce Perfectly Posh range. I think I made the three items for this kit in record time as they are such a gorgeous range to work with. Obviously the double sided papers helped with the variety of colours to use and the added sparkles on some of the papers gave my projects that little extra dazzle.

As you can see I was very inspired to punch a variety of shapes and borders from the paper and with a bit of a spritz of water and some strategically scrunched values added some great depth to the items. These papers were perfect to use for this technique and the added 'worn look' after roughly flattening the papers added to the effect.

I loved the idea of complimenting my cards with a set of tags and boy didn't these little items come together is record time. I really loved making these and will definitely create something like these again.

100 Creativity Starters

This weeks challange was to use scissors to cut a large random design. Well not quite scissors but I did use a knife blade to curve a piece of paper to fit over the bottom papers and the photo. Just a quickie to add a bit of interest.

What can I say but simply "I make the best pikelets ever!". It's not a lie and ask anyone who knows me, including the girls I work with, and they will all say my pikelets are world class. I don't know what it is but I seem to get the batter just right and know exactly when to turn them.

100 Creativity Starters

Well the first week of our new Scrappit challenges and we're taking our inspiration from the '100 Creativity Starters' from Creating Keepsakes.

Our first challenge was to rip a page from a non scrapping mag and take inspiration from it. Mine was an ad for 'Equal'. I loved the blue, white and a dash of red the colours of the ad showed. So here's my take on this ad.

I did have a bit of creative license to the design but at least the ad gave me the inspiration I needed to kick start this layout.

Scrappit Pack - October

My second kit from Scrappit for October and I just love these papers from Bo Bunny. Well I really am a fan of anything from Bo Bunny anyway so I really wouldn't complain.

I decided to do a relatively simple layout (unfortunately the scanned image doesn't pick up the cream card stock matting on the brown card stock) and cut strips from both sides of the double sided paper, laid these evenly from the right border and ran a row of machine stitching around the papers.

Oh and who says flowers are only for girl layouts.

Scrappit Pack - October

Do I dare say it's going to be October this week. I know they say as you get older the years go faster but honestly people, I'm sure we've missed a couple of months this year to get to the end so god dam quickly.

With this in mind it's time to start Xmas shopping and preparing those little gifts for teachers and staff etc. Kate has a fabulous female teacher this year. She has a small family and as usual collects all those little souvenirs from her family. This little album is going to be her Xmas gift from Kate. Apart from decorating the front with the usual fussy cutting I decided to add envelopes in various colours as the pages. She can add her little collection of bits and pieces to keep for years to come.

As usual I couldn't help but use Jen McGuire's inking techniques on all of this album.

Scrapapple 'In The Pink' Project

In the next week Scrapapple will be hosting a fantastic fundraiser for Breast Cancer called "In The Pink'. Not only are these three fabulous ladies collating 6x6 inspirational quotes layouts for albums for the centres but the DT were asked to complete a 12x12 layout for the occassion.

With my own Mother diagnosed with Breast Cancer (and cleared for the past 5 years), I felt it prudent to let my daughter know what may be in her future.
