Scrapapple Flowers Project

I just love to extend the dimension of layered silk or paper flowers with a touch of ribbon. To create these extra petals I cut small strips of ribbon and using some glue dots, secured a fold and attached behind my arranged flowers.

Scrapapple November Kit

Aren't these Teen Angst papers from WeRMemory Keeps just fantastic. I really felt so comfortable putting these two layouts together from the range. And a pink layout for a boy! Yes it can be done. I truly loved putting this one together capturing my DS#1 doing what he loves most, photography. He's become quite a natural and so many of his photos are now framed and hanging on our walls at home.

Don't think you can only stamp on plain card stock. I added more grunge to the already patterned paper by stamping over the top and using a circle punch to cut out.

With two of our three children accompanying us on our first overseas holiday this year to Norfolk Island we had a rather relaxing and colourful time. DS#1 has such a weird sense of humour and kept me in stitches most of the time. And, he certainly kept DD amused too, which is no mean feat, trust me.

The flourish stamp was added to the layout after the photos were in place.Using Stazon ink I stamped this over the top purposely letting it fall directly on the photos.

This weeks challenge was all about creating a flower without using premade flower petals. It was pretty simple really to create by continually overlapping ribbon in a figure 8 and securing a button in the centre to hold it all firmly in place. A large glue dot behind and you've attached it to your layout.

Pretty simple hey. Oh, and the photo has been played with in Photoshop Elements to create the B&W with a twist version.

Scrapapple Christmas Project

Using some 4" strips from the Allison Ellis Festive Nights Range we were asked to compliment the black and silver designs with our own choice of cardstock. I've been itching to use these colours with a combination of teal and yellow so this was a great opportunity to showcase them together.

I even had a pieces of cardstock over to create a few tags to go with the set. Definitely a different colour combo for Christmas cards, but I must say I'm happy with the results.

This weeks challenge was to start your journaling with a quote. I found this great quote that blended so well with the theme of the photo, it reads:

This weeks challenge was all about using a prevalent colour in your wardrobe as inspiration. A little while ago everything Kate owned was a shade of brown and with her beautiful olive skin it was the most appropriate colour for her.

So this page celebrated her brown phase which now seems to have progressed to BLACK. Well, I suppose all girls go through the goth stage at some time.

This weeks challenge was to cut a landscape type photo in three and mount. As usual I took a bit of poetic license and actually used three 4x6 photos. Basically DH was the same in each shot so I chose to cut the two b&w photos to just show the changing face of my DD. Pretty effective if I say so myself.
