100 Creativity Starters

I have an absolute obsession with all journaling tags. So, for this weeks challenge we were asked to think of the first product from our stash we would use first....umm gee that was a hard one, not!

There are so many companies using these tags in such a creative way. This particular one is from Prima. I just love the colours in this range and they compliment these gorgeous photos of my great niece Claire.

Day in You Life Challenge

Scrappit have released a new challenge and this is certainly going to be a fun one. Scrap a day in your life. Umm, what better one to start off with than going shopping with my favourite girl on a day off from work. Although we had a hiccup with Kate not feeling well, a little sleep in the car whilst I shopped and she was right to face the day again.

Two shopping centres in one day....boy were my feet killing me.

Valentines Card

I've had such a lazy creative weekend that this is the only new item I've played with. My DS#2 needed a Valentine's card for his new girlfriend, so mum to the rescue.

I pulled together a few scraps in brown tones with a Bella journal tag and with a few embellishments I was done.

Very cute if I must say so myself.

100 Creativity Starters

This weeks challenge and we were asked to trim a scallop border on one edge of your photo. Sacrilege! So what to do, I used a rubon border to give the impression of a scalloped edge.

There is so much intricate work on the page but it could be hard to see. I've added lace, ribbon, embroidery, rose brads and beading. All subtle but they do add that little extra to the layout.

Scrappit Pack - February

Can you believe it's February already? My god where has the beginning of the year gone already?

The Feb Scrappit kit included papers from We R Memory Keepers Full Speed Ahead range and boy did I find this a challenge. I suppose I create so many layouts for DD that I almost forget about the other two boys (or men should I say). I was lucky enough to have scanned some shots of David going back quite a few years and had them already printed for such an occassion.

To get five photos of him on one layout was a good reason to use my new 2" square punch and it certainly made my job a lot easier.

Scrapapple February Project

Scrapapple's February Kit was full of some really fun colours from the WeRMemory Keepers Twirl paper range. To compliment these I got to play with some chipboard journaling circles from Scrapware and one of my favs; the pom pom ribbon.

Although we were asked to head down the Easter path for this one, looking back through all my photos I only had two years worth of photos and they really weren't that good.

Kate had just recently had her hair foiled and of course it was time for a photoshoot when we got home. Yeah got some really great shots of her and her new look and thought they were perfect for this fun patterned paper range.

I pulled the journaling frames apart and painted and glossed the outer ones and left the inner plain. To be honest I did try to paint a couple of the inner ones and they turned out crap! So, what's a flower without leaves - nothing. I have literally tonnes of stamps but I keep going back to this Judith leaf one. It just looks so great.

ps - did anyone notice the freehand doodling? I just don't doodle but boy this looked good and it was very hard for me to stop in the end.

This weeks challenge was to create a frame or border with word and phrase stickers. On the layout below I used a rubon frame with rubon phrases and colour blocks. To add an arty feel to the page I printed the clipart flowers on transparency, trimmed and added to my layout.
