100 Creativity Starters

This weeks challenge was to create a page using inspiration from a favourite website.

While surfing the nett a couple of days ago, I happened upon this layout by Aly Dosdall and loved the colours, use of the circle and the strips of journaling she used.

So, here's my take. I did replace the ribbon flower with my own fussy cutting leaves and flowers and changed the circle to a frame and used crackle paint to give it some oomph.

Scrappit Now Kit - May

Hi Everyone

This is the fabulous kit from Scrappit for May. The papers were from the Basic Grey Kioshi range and the colours were just gorgeous from blues, purples and even browns on the reverse side. To compliment the kit we were also given the new BG Ribbon Dollies and Epoxy Stickers.

So, what did I come up with? Always a single layout first and this was using a very recent photo taken of my DH and myself on a tour in Hong Kong just last week. Very rarely do we get a shot together and the colours of the papers blended extremely well with the photo.

I always like to create something extra on every page and I love creating these little flowers. All you need is a circle punch, or even do this freehand, and cut in towards the centre to create petals.

This little set is intended for my DD. She is now a teenager and is going through the usual trials and tribulations relating to this time of her life. I wanted her to be able to record details of this year with a little tag album to record her 'Besties' and also a note album to detail her ups and downs for the year. To complete, a note pad never goes astray.

Finally, as a dedication to the numerous handbags I saw in Hong Kong and Singapore, I created my own little LV version to sit on my craft desk to hold my pens and scissors etc. I even added the orange stitching and bag charm to add to the theme.

100 Creativity Starters

This weeks challenge was to 'close your eyes and reach your hand into a drawer of supplies'. Well, this is a bit hard for me when I have a whole room full of drawers but here's what I picked.

Old scrap paper, ribbon and old chipboard letters. I've had these whale watching photos since last August and promised myself to have them on a layout this year. We were in Hervey Bay for the whale season and I loved every minute of it. Highly recommend to anyone to hasn't done this before.

I'm really into this doodling on my layouts at the moment and this truly gave me another opportunity to play.

ps: Sorry about the quality of the pictures, my scanner isn't in the mood to play at the moment.

Scrappit Pack - April

Aren't the colours in this months Scrappit Pack gorgeous. They're from Sassafras Lass and as usual they include some striking colours and patterns. Although this range has some very cute kiddies patterns, I chose the reverse side and went with a more age appropriate layout.

Katelyn enjoyed a few hours at our local park with one of her besties back in 2008 but believe it or not these photos just don't come close to showing their mischievous side that came out. Best few hours spent on a Saturday arvo for a long time.
