This months challenge from my local store was to create a Christmas in July layout and with a special touch we needed to add some bling. Yeah, not - I'm really not the bling kind of girl. That is unless it involves real diamonds and gold.
Anyway, I was quite please with the final result and if you do take a sneak at the close up photo, don't be too concerned that I never adhered the bling scroll. I can never get these to sit the right way so I've taken to cutting them out close to the gems and attaching the whole item as a 3D instead.

We Dare You Challenge
Another week has snuck by and it's time for a We Dare You Challenge. This week we were asked to scrap a note to or from someone. I had an especially touching note to enclose for my DD but I went with a few other remarks that are bothering me about her atm.
Sentiments like: Why does she mean tomorrow when I say today? Why does she take a mile when I give an inch? Why does she say black when I say white? And, my particular favourite; why does she look at me as if I'm a Martian and not her Mum?
I suppose every parent of a teenager goes through the inevitable face aches and you would think having gone through this twice before I would be somewhat of an expert by now, but, no it's all like it's never happened before and especially brutal coming from your daughter.
Urgh.....only five more years of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scrappit Now Kit - July
Still in my lost MOJO stage and what better to showcase in this months Newsletter than what do you do when you loose your mojo. Take a sneak over to Scrappit for their July Scrappit Now Kit Newsletter and you'll see what helped me get back into the spirit.
This little memo box was picked up from Office Works and joined my never ending supply of "I'll get around to doing something with this one day" stack of goodies. I think it came up really spiffy and it now sits on my desk at work.
David quite liked this mini tag album I created from pictures from his 21st Birthday this year. It certainly was a quick and simple way of using up those photos that I had accumulated.

Scrapapple July Project
This month's challenge and we got to pick from the Scrapapple site to create a little something. I couldn't go past the Wisteria Basic Grey range to play with. During our recent visit to Norfolk I had purchased a miniature pack of perfumes from Ralph Lauren. The little box it came in was so cute I knew it would be perfect to create that little something.
To go with the gift box I created a little mini album to keep safe inside the box. It was a simple mountain/valley fold album I had seen on the Two Peas in a Bucket website and thought it would be perfect for this project.
Anyway here's my take on the Gift Box and Album.

Redcliffe
What an absolutely glorious day it was today. A day trip to Recliffe started with a coffee at Michel's, low and behold Christopher joined us, off to Recliffe we stopped to look at the local markets followed by a walk along the pier before heading off to Morgans for lunch. What could be better than a winter's day in Brissie.
Absolutely perfect. You should have come Kate it was something you missed for sure.

Norfolk Holiday
We've just recently returned from a weeks holidays to Norfolk Island. What an absolutely beautiful place it is with it's majestic views from all parts of the Island. These are just a few of the magnificent photos Christopher took whist there. Unfortunately I'm still getting around to playing with mine.

We Dare You Challenge
An oldie but a goodie for this week's Scrappit We Dare You Challenge. The idea was to include a found object. Well, no such luck for something found to add to the layout so I included a page that was published for Scrapbooking Memories a little while ago.
Both my son and husband had a wonderful time trying to dig out this invasive tree root from next door. Thank god Christopher was there to help as it literally stretched the width of the back yard.

Well, what was I thinking? I almost forgot to upload the fab Scrappit It Now kit from July...doh! I really loved the challenge to create some boy pages with this great kit.
Featured below is a good friend's little boy Joshua. He is certainly one little cutie.

Scrappit Pack - July
Time for another great pack from Scrappit. This time I was delighted to receive some papers from We R Memory Keepers to play with. As you can see I've used some distressing by inking all edges of my paper and cardstock. I've also added some fussy cutting and hand and machine stitching to jazz up the layout.
